Schidananda Merehi, a retired jawan of Kulihamal Panchayat Kulihamal village in Kolabira block and worshiper of the Shiva temple he built in the village passed away on Saturday. On the death bed, two nieces Than Sundari Merehi and Girija Merehi and only son Birendra Singh Merehi, daughter-in-law Chandrakanti Merehi and family were present. As he was a Melapi man, his death cast a shadow of mourning in the region. His last rites were performed at the village crematorium. His son Birendra led the funeral pyre.
