
Nabarangpur, (Ranjit Naik) Date: 23.02.2026 Rikh: Umarkot Panchayat Samiti conference hall “We read or in our language” a day-long district level workshop has been held! The workshop organized by the district administration and the district social welfare department was inaugurated by the district governor Maheshwar himself as the chief guest! Deputy District Collector, Nabarangpur Prakash Kumar Mishra, DSW and Drapudi Kaher, DIET Chairman Okar Patnaik, DIPR and Manoj Behera, BD and Manoj Meher, Pira Mall Foundation Officer Vikram Rana were prominently present! The purpose of this program is to teach young children to speak in their mother tongue, “New Arunima” curriculum, to adapt to the child’s social and cultural environment, to train Anganbadi workers on this teaching! Children will be included in the first step of learning through games, stories, songs and conversations in their own language! On this occasion, as a pilot initiative, 30 Anganwadi Centers in Raighar Block of Nabarangpur District will be given mother tongue-based education to children aged 3 to 6 years in the local Gondi language! It is revealed that by the women and child development department of the state government, the project “M.Lakhaba in our language” will be implemented in 180 anganwadi centers in 6 tribal districts of Malkangari, Nabarangpur, Raigarh, Gajapati, Kandhamal and Kanjhar!
