Farmers are the backbone of the country, but those farmers are not getting drinking water at the right time. Indravati Marsalpur Dam left main canal of Khavanbhata sub-miner canal is flooded, local machinery farmers are worried. It is true that the government is providing billions of rupees to the water resources department. But during the operation of local Upper Indravati Left Canal Section-1, Kalahandi District Kusumkhunti Engineer SDO K. Narayan Rao and Adhikshan Engineer (SE) Rajkumar Behera, the land of canal oxen farmers has come to the fore. Last January 7, 2026, water was given in the main canals but till now the water has not reached the farmers’ land. Allegations have come to light that the said engineer cheated with the developer for billions of rupees by doing the work of repairing the canal in a half-hearted way. Even before this, the allegations of fraud of crores of rupees were published in the newspaper. The information that some of the engineers of the Upper Indravati Irrigation Department broke the rules and lost billions of unaccounted wealth is well known. There is a demand among the masses that the government should check such machinery. It remains to be seen whether the government will take any steps after the news or will it encourage corruption
