Malkangari 18/3/26 Koraput District Chief Medical and Public Health Officer’s office has organized an important sensitization and awareness program for media representatives. This one-day workshop was held on the premises of Koraput Skill Development Institute for the prevention of HIV/AIDS and sexually transmitted diseases and dissemination of correct information. In this important program, selected media representatives of Malkangari District MUJ Journalists Association, Utkal Journalists Association and Maliwanta Working Journalists Association participated and demonstrated their skills. The working style and commitment of these associations in disseminating correct information and dispelling misinformation and prejudices prevalent in the society was discussed here. Selected media representatives (print, electronic and web media) from Malkangiri and Nabarangpur districts participated in the event. Often due to lack of scientific knowledge and wrong information, there are many superstitions about this disease in the society. Experts imparted training to journalists on how to prepare error-free and sensitive reports. The second phase of this workshop will be held on March 20 (Friday). Similar training will be imparted to the representatives of Rayagada and Koraput districts. The conference was attended by District Collectors, CDM and PSO, ADPSO and senior officers from State OSACS. The workshop aims to enhance the skills of journalists and convey the right message about health to the public.
