Despite meeting all the necessary requirements for NAC, the BJP government has excluded Saiktala from the NAC. There was dissatisfaction among the public in Saiktala area. On Tuesday, a 12-hour shutdown was observed on behalf of the winning party of Saitala Panchayat on the demand of NAC. The party has warned that a 24-hour shutdown will be observed if the NAC status is granted to Saitala in the coming days. On Tuesday, BJD members observed a shutdown by blocking National Highway-26. All vehicular traffic, except for emergency services, was also closed during the closure. .
