He resigned because he could not give time to the team. He has announced that he will fight for the formation of a separate state by a punitive party formed by himself with the help of others who do not belong to any political party. As mentioned, he joined the Congress in 2023. Jairam has been MLA for the last 4 times and was elected to Lok Sabha once. He was first elected to the Legislative Assembly from Pattangi seat in 1977 on a Janata Party ticket. Later in 1990, he won from this seat. Similarly, in 2000 and 2004, Jayaram was elected to the Assembly on a BJ ticket. In 2009, he was elected to the Koraput Lok Sabha from BJJ and became a vacant minister in Biju Patnaik’s cabinet. In 2017, he left BJ and joined Vajpayee. Similarly, in the last general election of 2019, he contested from the Koraput Lok Sabha seat and was defeated. Now he has resigned from the Congress again. It is said that Jairam is taking the leadership by forming the Punitive Mountain Development Council. Tried to contact Rupak Turuk, the district president of NY Congress party, but it was not possible.
