Kandhamal, (Fast News Odisha): Senior journalist of Kandhamal district and S. Surendra Kumar Manigarahi (75), the founder of Kumar News Agency, passed away at a private medical center in Berhampur on Monday at 2 pm. As a result of breathing problems, the patient was first treated at Baliguda Medical Center and then at a private hospital in Berhampur. Mr. Manigarahi has been a journalist at the Baliguda sub-district level of Kandhamal district for 5 decades. Many journalists of the district have become journalists under his inspiration. He was not only a journalist, but also a dramatist, social activist and religious man. He is survived by three sons and one daughter and grandchildren. His body was brought to his Baliguda residence and cremated at the cemetery near Sub Jail. Kandhamal MP Sukant Kumar Manigarahi, Baliguda MLA Chakramani Kahar, G Udayagiri MLA Praful Chandra Pradhan, Phulbani MLA Uma Charan Mallik, former Deputy Speaker Saluga Pradhan, Uttar Pradesh Press Association State President Bivvi Bhushankar, district president Sathya Kumar Das, members of various institutions, workers, prominent intellectuals attended and expressed their condolences.
