A few days ago, due to the good rains, the farmers had a smile on their faces as the paddy fields improved. But suddenly the farmers lost their sleep due to the shock and the tubeworm. Borrowing for fertilizers, seeds, pesticides and other expenses is a concern for Suzhiva and his family. Kirmira, Arda, Bandhapali, Sulahi, Goud Panpali, Naxapali, Bhimayor, Jharmunda panchayats are facing the problem of lack of family due to extensive crop loss. Farmers of Kirmira, Ramakant Bubha, Rasindhu Pandey, Sridhar Sahu, Neer Kisan and many other farmers of the village are affected by disease. On the other hand, the agriculture department officials are not seen. Pests can be controlled if cultivated with proper advice and improved technology. Indifference towards farmers’ problems has led to dissatisfaction. Many years have passed since the independence of the country. But irrigation facilities have not been available for the farmers of Kirmira region. Farmers depend entirely on rainwater for farming. At the beginning of this year, the farmers were excited because of the good rains. They took loans and cultivated. But as the harvest time approaches, the disease pest has worried the farming family. It is demanded that the government immediately assess the damage and provide necessary assistance to the affected farmer families. Along with this, strict action is being taken against the officials and employees of the Agriculture Department who are guilty of neglecting their work. Jharsuguda has become an industrial district due to the influence of industrialization in the past few years. The industry has been established with an investment of thousands of crores of rupees. But farmers are deprived of getting water for farming. Farmers in industrial-rich Jharsuguda district have been deprived of irrigation facilities, raising questions about the government’s success. The government is demanding immediate irrigation facilities for farmers.
