Daringbadi, 28.10 (Salmon Bindhani): The district administration has acted urgently regarding the storm “Mantha” that has formed in the Bay of Bengal. Kandhamal District Collector Ved Bhushan, Baliguda Upazila Collector Pranitha Das reached the remote village of Hatimunda Panchayat Kukharipadar in the afternoon and checked the situation. The villagers were happy to find 2 IAS officers in the remote village and informed them about their problems. Along with 2 IAS officers, Daringbadi Gosti Development Officer Prithiranjan Rath, Tehsildar Dhiraj Pan and other officers also reached the village of Kukharipadar and visited the landslide site several times. However, since there is no problem in that area, the villagers of Kukharipad have not been brought to shelters like the previous cyclone, but if necessary, they can be immediately shifted to the nearby Tamangi school. Zillapal and Upazilapal visited various potential landslide sites in Daringbadi block and reviewed storm related response with BDI and Tehsildar Panchayat officials and other staff.
