
Malianya: The World Anemia Day was celebrated in the regional higher secondary school campus in Madiania Block Sadar Mahkuma, bordering Malkangiri District. Organized by IGD NGO in collaboration with ITC Mission Sunharakal, the symptoms, causes, varieties and remedies of anemia are thoroughly discussed. Anemia is a major problem in tribal dominated areas like Malkangari district and it has been said that there is ongoing government and private efforts to combat it in the current situation. Madiya Group Development Officer Ashwini Kumar Mohapatra attended the program as the guest of honor, Madiya Group Health Officer, Madiya College Chairman Parmanand Mahapatra and nationally renowned Jagannath Chinnara, who introduced Titchasya to the public mind at the state level, and Sagar Bharati of ITC Mission Sunharakal were also present. While various types of anemia were seen in the society, he said that anemia can be controlled if you have good diet, proper life style and regular intake of small grains. On this occasion, Mr. Chinara, who continued his efforts to introduce small rice at the global level, said that small rice will play a major role in eradicating anemia and changing the picture. In this program, 9 types of small grains are displayed and the children present are asked to prepare and consume them regularly. On this occasion, more than two hundred students including Jhili Seal, Gobind Sardar of IGD NGO run in collaboration with ITC Mission Sunharakal were present.
