Jharsuguda, 31.1 (Fast News Odisha): Awareness against cancer is the most powerful weapon. On the occasion of World Cancer Day, a big cancer awareness program is being organized at Jharsuguda Engineering School auditorium on February 4, 2026, from 4 pm to 6 pm. The main objective of the program is to sensitize the general public about the early symptoms of cancer, the importance of periodic screening and preventive measures. Organizers say the high number of cancer-related deaths is not due to lack of access to treatment, but to lack of awareness, fear and late detection of the disease. Through this program, cancer-related information will be presented to the general public in simple language, dispel misconceptions, reduce social stigma and encourage people to seek medical advice on time. Special emphasis will be given to breast cancer, cervical cancer, oral cancer and colorectal cancer. The organizers have appealed to the general public to make this social health initiative a success and requested the common citizens to participate in the program and be aware.
