A special drive has been started by the police in Baliguda sub-district of Kandhamal district to help drug addicts and disabled people. Kandhamal District Baliguda Sub-Division Police has launched a special campaign against open liquor consumption and other illegal activities under the leadership of new SDP Shubham Bhosale. In this context, various identified dark areas and sensitive areas of the sub-division are being raided. Hence strict legal action is being taken for public safety, especially women and children. Therefore, the people involved in the above activities should stay away from these activities and the residents of the area should report any such activity to the police, the identity of the person who reported the information will be kept 100% confidential and full security will be provided,” said SDP O Mr. Bhosle. While such an awareness program is being hailed as a welcome step by various quarters, intellectuals say that if it is enforced on a regular basis, anti-social acts can be reduced to some extent in the coming days.
