
Baripada, her. 05.09.2025, on behalf of the District Education Office, under the patronage of District Governor Mr. Hemkant Sai, the district-level Gurdivas celebration and Chief Minister’s Education Award Ceremony-2025 was held today at Shaheed Smriti Bhavan, Baripada. In the said program, Hon’ble Dr. Minister of Housing and Urban Development Department of Odisha Government. Krishnachandra Mohapatra attended as the chief guest. Honorable Lok Sabha MP Mr. Navacharan Majhi, Honorable Baripada MLA Mr. Prakash Soren, Honorable Udla MLA Mr. Bhaskarchandra Madhei, Honorable Saraskana MLA Mr. Bhad Hasda, Honorable Rairangpur MLA Mr. Yelan Naik and District Council President Mrs. Bharti Hasda Magar attended the event. District Education Officer and District Project Coordinator Mr. Purunchandra Sethi gave details of the program in the opening speech. The students of Maharaja Krishnachandra Bhanj Government High School sang the welcome song. In his address, the guests included former President of India, great philosopher, educationist Dr. Sarbapalli remembered Radhakrishnan’s teachings and practices. They said that according to Radhakrishnanji, “Teachers are not only enlighteners but the bedrock of society”. Therefore, the Guru-disciple relationship is deepened by expressing gratitude towards the teacher by observing Gurdivas. In this program, four regional tool center coordinators from four sub-districts of the district, 25 teachers from the primary level and 42 teachers from the secondary level were honored with the Chief Minister’s Education Award for their outstanding contribution in the field of education. This award will strengthen the morale of the teachers and they can set an example for others by doing remarkable work in the field of education in the coming days. This festival will help in reviving the tradition of Gurupujan and strengthening the Guru-disciple relationship.
