
Nabarangpur, (Ranjit Naik) Date: 05.02.2026: Discussion and training preparation program for Census 2027 has been held in the Ashok Mehta conference hall of the local district mayor’s office under the chairmanship of district mayor Maheshwar Swaymen! Additional District Collector (General) Tapan Kumar Khuntia, Additional District Collector (Revenue) Vishwajit Burman, Deputy District Collector Prakash Kumar Mishra were present in the meeting! Deputy Director Jayakrishna Bhoi from Directorate of Census, Bhubaneswar discussed the government’s approach, preparation, initiatives and processes for Census 2027 through PTT! This census of our country is the 16th and the 8th census in post-independent India! While the chief census officer in the district is the district governor, a total of 3300 enumerators and supervisors, including 12 census charge officers, will work until the end of the census! These enumerators and supervisors will be trained by master trainers! For the first time, the census is being done digitally! In the first phase of the district, there will be a house list and census program from 16.4.2026 to 15.5.2026! In the second phase, the enumerator will go from house to house from 9.2.2027 to 28.2.2027 and count people! Those who want to correct their personal information can do so between 1.3.2027 and 5.3.2027! In the census, houses, economic status, education and many other data will be collected which will be helpful for many plans and good governance in the country in the future! Census officials will review and take action through CMMS portal! District level officials, all tehsildars, additional tehsildars, executive officers of Nabarangpur/Umarkot municipality, census staff, media representatives were present in this meeting.
