Malkangiri, 18/3/26: When an administrator associates himself with the public, the time of departure is very difficult. A glaring example of this has been seen today in Malkangiri district. While bidding farewell to the former district governor Somesh Kumar Upadhyay, the members of the District Adivasi Maha Sangh were very emotional and cried. An emotional atmosphere was created at the event, which was organized in the premises of the District Collector’s residence. All the tribal leaders present including Haribandhu Golri, Jarashbar Madhira, Prabhakar Hantal, Ghenu Muduli, Patna Muduli, Gopi Pangi, Sanatan Kawasi, Soma Madkami, Muka Madkami could not hold back their tears as they remembered Mr. Upadhyay’s loving behavior and his continuous efforts for the betterment of the district. They honored him as if they had lost a relative. During his short term in office, he brought hope to the lives of 39 beneficiaries of Mariwada village by occupying their land. His contribution to protecting the culture and rights of the tribal community will be remembered forever. Although he was finally bid farewell to traditional music and dance, the tears in everyone’s eyes represented the deep love and respect for Mr. Upadhyay.

This departure will forever be remembered in the history of Malkangiri.
