Malkangiri, 3/12/25: District Social Security and Disability Empowerment Department has celebrated the International Day of Persons with Disabilities in Maha Adambar. On the occasion of celebrating this day, a sports and cultural program was organized at the playground of a special school in Naikguda on 1st December. Then an inter-school speech and essay competition was organized at Butiguda Project School, Malkangiri Sadar on 2nd December and an awareness walk was organized on the last day i.e. 3rd December at 8 am. In which Additional District Governor Vedbar Pradhan inaugurated the event by showing the green flag as a guest and a total of 400 NCC cadets, school students and local people participated in this march. Later, a meeting was organized at the local cultural building. Additional District Administrator Somnath Pradhan as Chief Guest, District Education Officer Chittaranjan Manigarahi, Retired District Social Security Officer Padma Ranjan Das, MP Representative Vijay Maharana, MLA Representative Nihar Rai and Jagat Jeevan Pankar as guest of honor encouraged the 450 Dibangs present in the meeting. The Chief Guest opined that Dibang’s role is important in building a comprehensive society. On the occasion of celebrating this day, 3 people were given a marriage incentive check of Rs. The winners of all previous competitions were felicitated in this programme. Out of the newly sanctioned Dibang allowance from all the blocks, 42 persons were newly inducted today. The entire program was completed under the supervision of District Social Security Officer Nirmal Dharua, while all the staff of the District Social Security Office participated in it.
