Malkangiri, 17/9/25: Trees are absolutely essential to protect our environment. In view of this, 75 lakh saplings have been planted across the state on September 17 in the ‘Ek Paid Ma’ K No 2.0′ campaign. Similarly, the target of planting more than 2 lakh 16 thousand saplings in Malkangari district has been informed by District Governor Somesh Kumar Upadhyay in the district level ‘Ek Paid Ma’ K Name 2.0′ campaign program organized at MV-7 Jagannathpally High School. He further said that the state government had set a target of planting 1 lakh 40 thousand saplings in Malkangiri district. The highest number of plantations in the district, i.e. 700 to 1000, has been selected. The district governor said that this campaign has been expanded with the support of administrative staff, voluntary organizations, students, self-help groups, women and general public in all blocks and panchayat levels of the district since 5 am. On this occasion, he said that there is a high demand for fine touch in the market. Therefore, the goal of strengthening the economy of the farmers of the district is being done with proper care. Today’s campaign will make Malkangari green and every village will get good trees, the District Collector said. Malkangari MLA Narsingh Madkami said that the 75th birthday of the Prime Minister of India, Shri Narendra Modi is being celebrated throughout India. On this occasion, 75 lakh saplings are being planted across Odisha in a single day through the campaign “Ek Paid Ma Ke Naam 2.0”. Mr. Madkami opined that although the Forest Department and the Department of Agriculture and Farmers Empowerment have major responsibilities, this campaign needs everyone’s cooperation to make the process more widespread. He further said that it is not enough to plant a tree, it is also necessary to take responsibility for how this tree will have a better future and every government employee and public must be responsible for its maintenance and care after planting. “Similarly, trees such as neem, karanj, tenthali, phasi, arjun, harida, bahada, pans, palm, pizhuli, krishnachuda, pipal, bar, ashok, jamu, kadamba, amla, cypress, sunari, karanj, chakunda etc. trees have been selected for planting trees that provide more shade in the path and private trees,” said Sai Kiran, Bankhand officer. Inspector General of Defense Vinod Patil H, senior BSF officer and Chief Development Officer Naresh Chandra Shabar were among others present at the event. In this district level program, the guests provided fodder to the laborers on behalf of the labor department. ASF Priyanka Meeuka conducted the program. To scale up the campaign, a control room has been set up at the district council office and the information on planting of saplings in the entire district is being uploaded on the Merry Life portal. For the success of this campaign, all the district level officers were assigned responsibilities according to Gram Panchayat. Students of Jagannathpally High School, teachers and students, additional district teachers, all employees of forest department and all district level officials were present in the district level program.
