Nabarangpur MP Balabhadra Majhi, Koraput MLA Raghuram Fish, Lakshmipur MLA Shali Sano Santa, Kotpad MLA Rupu Bhatra were present in the meeting held under the chairmanship of Koraput District Governor Manoj Satyaban Mahajan. The District Collector said that the market will be opened on the 11th of December! 108 mandis will be opened in Jaipur and Koraput subdivision! Grain will be collected in 25 mandis in Koraput sub-district and 83 in Jaipur sub-district! 44104 farmers have registered to sell grain! The members demanded to pay the empty sacks and handling charges of the farmers sold in the previous grain market! The farmers demanded to strengthen the infrastructure in every mandi! CCTV will be installed in every mandi to keep a close eye on the brokers! Nodal officers and supervisors have been appointed in Mandi to streamline the entire process! Within the next 7 days, BIDs and Tahsildars have been instructed to supervise the women’s SHGs and provide reports. He said that the development of mandi infrastructure is being started by RMC! Among others, Jaipur Deputy District Collector Akabaram Gera Reddy, Additional District Collector Tapan Kumar Naik, Chief District Agriculture Officer, District Council Vice President Radha Vinod Samanthara and other officials and farmers were present!
