*Malkangiri, 07/03/2026:* District level ‘Right to Information Act, 2005’ Workshop-2026 has been held by the District Information and Public Relations Office as per the guidelines of Odisha Government Information and Public Relations Department at the District Council Conference Room. Ashok Patnaik participated as a resource person in this one-day workshop organized today under the chairmanship of Deputy District Collector Duryadhan Bhoi. District Information and Public Relations Officer Pramila Majhi conducted the entire programme. Deputy District Collector Mr. Bhoi in his speech said that through RTI, transparency and accountability in government work will increase and citizens can get direct information about government schemes. This law reduces the distance between administration and public. Emphasis on self-reporting, especially under ‘Section 4′, will increase citizens’ confidence and reduce the number of complaints. He advised the officials to take it as an active part of service delivery rather than a burden. Public Information Officers, Assistant Public Information Officers, Deputy Collectors and officers of various departments participated in this workshop. In this workshop, Mr. Patnaik discussed in detail about the entire process of receiving applications under the RTI Act, the management technique, recording the necessary registers for the RTI Act in the office etc. In addition, the officers discussed various issues during the session. On this occasion, cash prizes were awarded to the winners of the elocution competition on Right to Information Act. Finally, the District Information and Public Relations Officer gave vote of thanks. District Information and Public Relations Officers Harekrishna Kirtnia and Ranjan Mohanty assisted in conducting the programme.
