Nabarangpur, (Ranjit Naik) Date: 20.08.1025 Rikh: Under the Nabarangpur district administration, a high-level coordination meeting was held at the Mission Shakti Conference Hall under the chairmanship of the District Collector! The District Child Protection Officer officially welcomed everyone to the meeting and requested the District Governor Dr. Maheshwar Swamy to officially open the meeting! The main focus of the meeting was – Effective implementation of the duties of Prohibition of Child Marriage Act, 2006, “Protection of Children from Sexual Exploitation Act, 2012” (POCSO), Juvenile Justice (Care and Protection) Act, 2015 and Prohibition of Child Marriage Act, 2006! These four laws are the basic foundation of India’s child protection system, which the Assembly has agreed to strengthen at the district level! In his keynote address, the District Collector said – “Child marriage, child labour, sexual abuse, school dropout and unsafe migration all violate the fundamental rights of the child! We will not let any child go through such a situation! Every child needs to be protected, educated and respected! He further mentioned – “Child protection is not the job of any one department! This is the duty of every officer, community leader, teacher and parent and it should start from the grassroots! Together we can build an environment free of fear and exploitation for children!” Along with this, Mr. Ajay Mishra, while highlighting the legal aspects, spoke about the CH Shantakram Child Standard Mindfulness and how we should work on it, then Prabhasini Patnaik, from Angan Trust, highlighted the successful implementation of the duties of Child Marriage Prohibition Officer and Child Marriage Information Officer under the Child Marriage Prohibition Act, 2006! In the meeting, various officials discussed the key aspects of the law! CDPOs discuss field issues and best practices! At the end of the meeting, the District Governor said, “Every child of Nabarangpur is our responsibility! Child safety is not a matter of hypnosis, it is our highest priority!” In this meeting, all district level officers, Smt. Draupadi Kanhar, District Social Welfare Officer, Shri Maley Mishra, R.DMO, CDPOs (Child Development Project Officers) of all blocks, Supervisors, District Labor Officers, Chairperson and members of Child Welfare Committee, DSP, Police, District Additional Welfare Officer, Education Department, Child Helpline, Workers of various voluntary SEBI organizations, workers of Sakhi Center, Probation Officer from DCPU, Kishore Martha, Samarendra Parida, Kishan Patnaik, and other attached departments actively participated!
