Baripada: 05.01.2026// A preparatory meeting has been held under the chairmanship of Additional District Collector Mr. Dukhbandhu Naik in the conference room of District Collector’s office this afternoon to celebrate the 77th Democracy Day at the district level. Among others, Assistant District Education Officer Shasidhar Singh, Reserve Police Inspector Aloy Kumar Kanungo, District Information and Public Relations Officer Vikas Ranjan Mohanty Major attended the event. On this occasion, the Additional District Collector suggested that the National Day should be celebrated with joy, gaiety and discipline and that each department should carry out their duties properly. After a detailed discussion, the chief guest of the Republic Day will hoist the national flag at 8:30 a.m. at the local Reserve Police Stadium on January 26 and give a speech at the parade. After that, there will be cultural programs, awarding of prizes, and publicity. On the occasion of the day, the chief guest will attend a blood donation camp after distribution of sweets to the inmates of Uttarakhand Kindergarten, distribution of sweets to disabled schools, distribution of fruits to the main hospital. The Additional District Governor discussed about Ramdhun, Pangaferi national flag hoisting and greeting of the chief guest, multilingual poet conference, fruit-biscuit/dessert distribution, award ceremony and other related preparations and informed all the departmental staff to take proper responsibility. The practice parade will be held on 21st, 22nd and 24th of this month at 7:30 AM at Reserve Police Ground. Preparation of parade ground, construction of barricade, maintenance of peace and order, cleanliness, supply of drinking water, temporary health camp and ambulance system, fire fighting system, arrangement of decorating the festival stage with flowers etc. were discussed and the departmental officers were advised to implement it.
