Baripada 29/12 (Fast News Odisha) In order to create mass awareness against the arbitrary actions of Tata Power, Mayurbhanj District Congress Committee organized an awareness procession in Baripada and protested in front of Tata Power’s office. Under the leadership of District Congress President Purunchandra Biswal, many leaders and workers and electricity consumers came out in a procession from Satyasai Kalchi Street and protested in front of the office of Tata Power Adhikshan Engineer at Baghra Road, raising slogans against the electricity department. He has demanded to provide free electricity to farmers, reduce electricity bills, stop installation of smart meters, and stop depositing additional security money. Similarly, providing 300 units of free electricity was an election campaign and false promise of BJP. If the Tata Power Company and the state government do not stop robbing the consumers, the Congress will hold agitations at the block level and warn the general public in the coming days, District President Shri Biswal said. In this program, State Vice President of Congress ST Cell Chaitanya Hasda, Farmer Cell President Deepak Das, PCC Member Narayan Patnaik, Shantanu Pal, Sunita Naik, Savita Soren, Gauri Naik, Bhoj Govind Dallei, Nalini Patnaik, Minketan Behera Major in their speeches strongly criticized the false promises of the BJP government. Among others are Madhavi Captain, State Women Editor Shudashmita Das, Bhubaneswari Jena, Tarna Bano, Uttam Behera, Satyakam Captain, Vikas Mohavoi, Samar Ranjan Das Nirmal Pradhan, Asit Das, Sheikh Nehem, Banmali Barik, Sunaram Soren, Bhavani Sahu, Parvati Soren, Abhishek Jacob, Banmali Barik, Tikan Gochayat, Chandan Kisku, Hundreds of Congress workers were present along with Bishnu Soren Magar.
