
Baripada, (24.2) Even after the progress of science, superstitions such as gunigaredi, witchcraft, system tools, and superstitions are still found in the society even today. This superstition cannot be removed from people’s minds. As a result, various types of crimes are being committed due to this. Due to superstitions like Gunigareddy and claiming to be right-wing, many innocent lives are also at risk. This superstition is a sensitive issue in the 21st century, said the guests who participated in the awareness program held today to ban right-wing practices, quackery and prevent superstition at the Mayurbhanj District Council Hall. DIG Eastern Range Mr. Pinak Mishra (VAPRES) presided over the said meeting and informed the present police officers and other officers of the districts and representatives of voluntary organizations about various aspects. Mayurbhanj District Security Officer Mr. Barun Guntupali gave a welcome address and apprised the gathering about the importance of the workshop. Mr. Hemkant Sai, District Collector of Mayurbhanj district participated in this program and emphasized to do away with Gunigaredi and right-handed practices through awareness and to create widespread awareness about elimination of superstitions. In addition, everyone was called to be aware of this social disorder in the modern age. Former Information Commissioner Ms. Shashiprabha Bindhani, Retired Judge Namitha Das, Senior Social Worker Mr. Aditya Patnaik, Ms. Mamatamayi Viswal, CDPO, Mayurbhanj, Lecturer Dr. Sujoy Kundu participated in 6 series on various issues and informed about the horrors of Gunigareddy. Innocent children are being sacrificed for the system, and innocent people are being killed in the name of right-wing and innocent children are not being eradicated due to lack of access to basic needs such as education and health. The guests who were present expressed the opinion that such superstitions can be removed by spreading science-oriented views. Similarly, the workshop emphasized to remove the fear of the people towards Gunigaredi and right-wing by mentioning the law related to it. Today’s workshop was attended by all police officers of Bhadrak, Balasore and Mayurbhanj districts. At the end of the meeting Additional SP Mr. Deepak Kumar Gochrayat gave vote of thanks.
