Kandhamal, (Fast News Odisha): On Friday evening in the Daringbadi police station area of Baliguda sub-district of Kandhamal district, a minor girl was raped after going to see the Ganesha statue, and the accused has been arrested from Daringbadi. Baliguda SDPO Ramendra Prasad informed that the arrested youth is Prashant Pradhan (27) of Daringbadi police station Burjubadi village. After the arrest of the accused, a health examination was conducted at the Daringbadi group health center and various samples were collected, said investigating officer Jayant Sethi. He was produced in the POCSO court and the used Maruti Suzuki Swift Dizzer vehicle No. OD-07-X-0593 has been seized. It is revealed that on the 5th of Friday evening in the said police station area, the minor girl left her elder sister’s house and went to see the funeral procession of Ganesha statue. After finishing the bhasani, he took prasad and took his dress jacket from a relative’s house and returned to his sister’s house. At this time, Prashant took her outside the city and raped her inside the car. After Prashant opened the door of the car, the girl was trying to escape from there. At this time, the girl’s hair was cut and brought to the car and threatened to kill someone who told about the incident, after which the girl managed to escape from there and informed her family about the incident. The family filed a complaint in the police station on Saturday. The police registered a case under Case No. 182/25 and conducted an investigation. From that day the accused Prashant went back. The police said that the police raided various places to arrest Prashant and managed to arrest him in the said police station area. Baliguda SDPO Ramendra Prasad and Kandhamal SP Harish Bishi took the incident seriously and ordered the arrest of the accused.
