Deceased Surendra Tankar (67) and his wife Pushpajanli Tankar (60) woke up at 4:30 am as usual on Thursday morning and went into the kitchen to heat water for their routine and as soon as they tried to light the gas, a terrible situation arose due to the gas filled inside the room. First, the woman came under fire and screamed, Sami Surendra rushed inside to save the woman without thinking ahead and he also faced a terrible fire. The fire caused by the gas was so intense that both of them could not come out suddenly and were buried in the fire and were seriously injured. The family and the people around them rushed to save them from the burning room and immediately took them to the district hospital, but due to their critical condition, both of them were shifted to Rourkela from there. But Surendra died there on Friday morning while his wife Pushpajali died on the third day. As soon as the news of the death was broadcast, condolences were expressed from various quarters and Marmahat expressed his condolences to the family.
