This year, International Women’s Day will be celebrated at all village, panchayat, block and NAC levels – District Collector l Nuapada District Empowerment Center and District Social Welfare Department, Nuapada A district level preparation workshop has been held at the local Sadbhavana Assembly Hall in Anukuli, Nuapada to celebrate International Women’s Day-2026. District Collector Madhu Sudan Das attended the meeting as the chief guest and inaugurated the program. District Social Welfare Officer Mrs. S. Geeta introduced the guest and delivered the welcome speech. The District Magistrate highlighted the purpose of celebrating International Women’s Day and the role of administration and society in protecting women’s rights. For the first time this year, he ordered to celebrate International Women’s Day at all villages, panchayats, blocks and NAC levels by including all Asha, Anganwadi workers, village level workers, elected public representatives. In addition, district welfare officers were ordered to select women who have done excellent work in the social sector by forming a committee under the chairmanship of the sub-district level. The District Governor directed the District Sports Officer to organize Women’s Doubles Badminton Competition to increase sports awareness among women. On behalf of the Mission Shakti Department, NAC executive officers were requested to organize sports competitions at ward and gram panchayat level by mobilizing all SHG women and to conduct such programs in all wards of NAC region. The workshop was attended by General Manager, DIC Sameer Muduli, District Coordinator, Mission Shakti Sunil Kumar Mallick, LDM Harishankar Nial, District Information and Public Relations Officer Vidyapati Panda, former LDM Sitaram Meher and YAR NGO Secretary Mahendra Joshi. They informed the participants about the rights of women and girls, digital skills, market opportunities for women entrepreneurs, financial literacy and the importance of International Women’s Day. The workshop was attended by representatives of various NGOs, Protection Officers, NAC Community Organizers, members of various SHGs and brand ambassadors of the ‘Beti Bachao Beti Pabhaao’ programme. District Mission Coordinator of Women Empowerment Center Ash Ranjan Khamari, Narad Chhatar, Sanjay Pandichor, Ipsita Rajput, Ramakant Sethi, Deshram Harijan, Rakesh Nag, Sumit Pradhan and other staff members of Women Empowerment Center assisted in the management of the program.
