Due to the enthusiasm and motivation of Nuapada District Governor Madhusudan Das towards sports, new players are able to represent the district in new sports in Nuapada district today. In this series, the new lawn ball team of Nuapada district has left for Balangir today at 1 o’clock in the afternoon. Today, for the first time from Nuapada district, in a new sport, lawnball players have taken part in the state level competition to be held in Balangir to increase the reputation of themselves and the district. It is a matter of pride and glory for the district that 14 boys and girls players participated in the state level competition in the district athletics games in the past days due to the encouragement of the District Collector and the efforts of the District Sports Officer Rajendra Prasad Badhai. The sportspersons of the district will showcase their sports skills in the new lawnball arena constructed by the Odisha State Sports and Youth Services Department at the RN Singhdeo Sports Yard in Balangir tomorrow. Players Narendra Majhi, Tikeshwar Majhi, Shailendra Majhi, Pankaj Kumar Majhi, Kemanth Majhi, Madhav Majhi, Khaleshwar Subar, Giridhari Majhi, Vikas Majhi, Pradeep Majhi toured with their coach and manager Mr. Debabrat Sahu who traveled to participate in the state level. The District Sports Officer congratulated the players and sent them off to Balangir by bus in front of the District Collector’s office. Mr. Badhai said that Nuapada District is full of sports talent.
