District-level International Women’s Day-2026 has been celebrated in a grand ceremony at the local police station in cooperation with Nuapada district social welfare department and district administration. In this ceremony presided over by District Magistrate Madhusudan Dash, representative and wife of Nuapada MLA Mrs. Suman Dholakia, District Council Deputy Chairperson Mrs. Deepika Deep, Nuapada Block Chairperson Mrs. Tareshwari Sahu, Komna Block Chairperson Mrs. Anusuya Kukhar, District Chief Development Officer Lambodar Dharua, Deputy District Magistrate Mrs. Surmi Soren, CDMO Dr. Dhaneshwar Sethi and the district community. Welfare Officer Mrs. S. Geeta was the Chief Guest of Honour. The event was attended by a large number of women and stakeholders of the district. Today, Hon’ble Chief Minister Shri Mohan Charan has disbursed an amount of over Rs. 5000 Crores directly to his bank account through DBT to about 1 crore women beneficiaries through the state level distribution program of the fourth installment of Majhi Subhadra Yojana. The program was telecasted live at the district function where the guests awarded the winners of various district level competitions organized during the day. Comna Block CDPO Devaki Mallik was adjudged as the best CDPO. Similarly, Geruyo’s anganwadi player Sulochana Bishoi was honored as the best anganwadi player of the state at the national level. 8 women who have achieved achievements in sports, social service, literature and other fields of the district were also honored today. Slow marathon program was organized. The District Governor formally inaugurated it by flagging it. Students, parents, teachers and students of various educational institutions of Nuapada participated in large numbers. Additional District Collector Subas Chandra Rait, Deputy District Collector Mrs. Surmi Soren, Chief Animal Resource Officer, DRCS, Deputy Director Planning, District Information and Public Relations Officer and all district level officials participated in it. In the evening, a poetry reading program was organized at the local Sadhavana assembly hall at the District Cultural Council, Anukully. District Magistrate, Additional District Magistrate, District Chief Development Officer attended as guests.
