“Salihagarh Kannati Day – 2025” has been celebrated in the Salihagarh village memorial pillar yard in Nuapada with the cooperation of Salihagarh Memorial Council, District Administration Nuapada and Department of Tourism, Government of Odisha. District Governor Madhusudan Das was the chief guest in this event presided over by Kham Singh Majhi District Security Officer Omrit Pal Singh, former MP Basant Panda, former MP Chunilal Sahu, Additional District Magistrate Subash Chandra Rait, Youth Leader Jay Dholkia, District BJD President Abni Ranjan Joshi, Nuapada Block Chairperson Taraswari Sahu, Vice President Phillip Nirmalkar, Khariar Road NAC Chairperson Dr. Sonia Aggarwal, BJP Farmer Leader Yadumani Munigrahi, Hom Singh Majhi from the Memorial Council, Mahesh Ram Sahu were the keynote speakers. Dr. Shiv Prasad Behera and Dr. Basudev Sunani joined the ceremony. All the guests remembered the importance of Salihagarh, the bloodshed of the struggle and the sacrifices of the freedom fighters. We should not waste the precious freedom that they have given us as migrant workers. Everyone can stay in the district and take advantage of the government scheme to make it a green, beautiful and plastic-free district. This will be the best tribute to the fighters. Padmapur One Rupee Dance Group, TGS Dance Group Saipla and other groups performed the Sundar cultural programme.
