CHENNAI: The state police has registered a case of lynching at a rally of Tamilaga Vettri Kazhagam (TVK), a political party led by Tamil Superstar Vijay. However, Vijay’s name is not in this list. Below are the names of the TVC staff. Fearing that the situation will become more serious if Vijay’s name is mentioned, the police have taken such a step. A senior official of the state police said that if Vijay is directly involved in the case, there is a risk of violence by his supporters. Therefore, Vijay will not be questioned or arrested in this case. The state government has formed a one-man commission headed by retired High Court judge Aruna Jagdishan to investigate the incident. Necessary action will be taken after the commission submits the inquiry report. The police have filed charges under various sections of the Indian Penal Code. These include Section 109 (murder with intent), Section 125B (endangering the lives of others), Section 223 (disobeying government orders). Apart from this section of the BNS, the case has also been filed under the Tamil Nadu Property Act. While Vijay is not named in the report, he has been blamed for the Dalichkatta incident. It is said that there was a rift among the people due to Vijay coming late instead of doing the program on time. He came 4 hours late for the program. Similarly, Vijay took a procession to reach the venue. The administration did not give permission for the procession. On the other hand, the BJP has demanded a CBI investigation into the incident. The Tamil Nadu state BJP has alleged that the DMK government has contacted Vijay to take his side. Therefore, the government is taking the incident lightly. BJP spokesperson ANS Prasad said that the truth will come out if the CBI investigates the incident. However, Chief Minister MK Stalin Karur has appealed to everyone not to spread any kind of false information and rumors on social media. The administration is making every effort to help the people affected by the drought. The Chief Minister said that 41 people have died in Dalichakta.
