Baripada Tha 10/12 (Fast News Odisha) While the Central Government’s Pradhan Mantri Ujbala Yojana to provide clean, safe and cheap LPG gas to women from economically disadvantaged families started in 2016, now in the third phase of the scheme, 25 lakh additional connections will be provided free of cost to the tribal-affected backward districts. As the proportion of LPG users in Odisha’s Mayurbhanj, Keonjhar, Sundergarh and Koraput districts is relatively low, this scheme is being implemented first in these four districts. In Odisha, 87 percent of families have LPG facilities, while in Mayurbhanj district, only 66.9 percent of families have LPG facilities. So under the Ujbala 3.0 scheme, elderly women from poor families who do not have any LPG connection can get free LPG connection under this scheme by applying online or at the nearest distributor, said Tundup Naro, Chief Editor, LPG Odisha, in a press conference organized by Indian Oil at Baripada Circuit House today. Among others, District Chief Supply Officer Pradeep Kumar Panda, Chief Corporate Communications Editor Sushmita Tripathi, Odisha Municipal LPG Sales Chief Sain Kadam were present and gave detailed information in the press conference.
