
Malkangiri, 9/2/26: District Magistrate Somesh Kumar Upadhyay reviewed various development projects in Bandaghati. The District Collector first visited Sisaput village of Baddural Gram Panchayat and toured the family farming cluster run under the Chief Minister’s Janajat Mission. Talked to the farmers and encouraged them to cultivate more. The District Magistrate directed the PA ITDA to take steps to preserve the onions there. Steel railings at a view point being constructed on the Baddural to Andhrahal road have been asked to ensure all necessary facilities for tourists. ITDA has been directed to complete the construction of 179 rural shelters under the PM Janman Tribal Justice Maha Abhiyan in Andhrahal. Steps are being taken to develop the said village as a model village. PA ITDA informed that while 115 goat cages were planned to be constructed in the village, 40 cages have been constructed so far. The District Collector has ordered to complete this work by the month of February. The District Collector found out that 15 families were rearing native pigs in the village. As it affects the sanitary system of the village, the District Magistrate has ordered to stop raising native pigs completely. ITDA has also been directed to plant beautiful trees on both sides of the village. The District Governor has ordered to complete the under-construction bridge and view point of that village as soon as possible. The District Collector has also visited the cashew processing unit. Vidyo has been directed to renovate the Andhrahal Panchayat building. ITDA and horticulture department jointly ordered to take steps to make kitchen garden in every house of the village. A multi-processing unit has been asked for local panas and other products such as chickpeas. Later, the District Collector visited Bandapada and expressed his happiness after seeing the success of strawberry and capsicum cultivation. The District Governor ordered to provide tools to the farmers so that they can do more profitable farming. The ITDA has been directed to do salar lift, drift irrigation, bore wells and check dams. ITDA has been directed to provide capacity building training to farmers on how to become more self-reliant after this year. ITDA has also been asked to facilitate transport to make the produce of the farmers easily available in the market. Farmers have been asked to provide all kinds of assistance so that more capsicum can be grown even today. Similarly, the Rural Development Department has been asked to complete the road works as soon as possible. Finally, the District Collector played a volleyball match with the local youth at Mudulipada. The District Governor also directed to strengthen the infrastructure of the playground for the development of sports. Among others, officials from PA ITDA, DD Horticulture, Banda Development Corporation PL, Animal Husbandry ADVO, BD Khairput and other departments were present.
