
Baripada, (14.03.2026): The first National People’s Court has been held in Baripada on behalf of the District Law Service Authority, Mayurbhanj in the premises of the District and Dauraj’s office. Out of the total 12,568 cases in the said People’s Court, 4321 cases have been adjudicated and settled for a total payment of Rs.2,94,85,666. It is known that 809 cases out of 6,827 cases related to pre-lawsuits have been settled in this people’s court chaired by District and Dauraj and District Legal Services Authority Chairman Mr. Sudipta Acharya and a payment of 1 crore 22 lakh 18 thousand 959 rupees has been settled. Similarly, out of 5741 pending cases of various classifications, 3 out of 58 arbitrable criminal cases, N. i. 24 out of 112 cases under Section 138 of the Act, 66 to 15 related to bank loan, 197 to 15 motor vehicle accident cases, 38 out of 14 related to matrimonial (other than divorce) cases, 2456 out of 3449 revenue cases, 45 out of 27 other civil cases, 1 out of 7 related to camping cases and 1265 out of other criminal cases. A total of 3512 cases including 915 cases were decided and a total of 1 crore 72 lakh 66 thousand 707 rupees were settled. Family Court Judge Ms. Prajyot Raut, Senior Civil Judge (LR and LTV) Mr. Sudam Charan Das, Senior Civil Judge Satrupa Shetpathi, S.D.J.M. Ms. Jewel Patnaik, JMFC-1 (Cog. Taking) Ms. Laxmipriya Swayun, JMFC Kumari Madhusharba Mohanty, JMFC Seem Agarwal, JMFC (LR & LTV) Mr. Lahanshu Thakur and other Judicial Magistrates constituted for disposal of cases. Appointed member of the Bench and Public Advocate Mr. Umakant Raut, Lawyers Mr. Satya Narayan Behera, Mr. Kamal Kumar Kumar Babu, Mr. Dhirendra Kumar Mahapatra and other lawyers of Baripada Bar Association and other employees of Revenue Department, various State/Private Bank Officers, Telephone Department, Electricity Department and other staff of the Authority assisted.
