Baripada on 6/12 (Fast News Odisha) Rajya Sabha MP Mamata Mahan expressed her gratitude to the Central Government and Prime Minister Narendra Modi for the implementation of the Prosperous City Central Plan in Odisha and the cities of Jharsuguda, Sambalpur, Bargarh, Jaipur, Koraput, Sunabedsa, Berhampur, Chhatrapur, Gopalpur, Puri, Bhubaneswar, Paradise, Cuttack and other cities of Odisha have been included in the Prosperous City Plan. Mrs. Mahanth has expressed her sorrow and drawn the attention of the Chief Minister for not being given a place in Baripada, the Sadar Mahkuma of Mayurbhanj district. In his letter number 35 dated 5.12.25, he requested to include Baripada town in the Prosperous City Central Plan. A copy of the said letter has been given to Odisha Government House, Urban Development Minister Dr. Krishnachandra Mohapatra and requested to take appropriate action. MP Mamata Mahant’s proposal was welcomed by lawyer Kamalakanta Das, educationist Shyamsundar Das, D Pushpa Par, former Rajya Sabha MP Mrs. Sarojini Hembram, former Baripada MLA Kishore Das and senior member of Bharatiya Janata Party’s state worker and co-chairman of Odisha Lawyer Federation Jeevan Kumar Sahu. Baripada strongly demanded to include the city.
