
Baripada: 17.12.2025// The holy birth anniversary of Maharaja Shriramchandra Bhanj Deo, one of the promoters of the golden age of Bhanj soil and one of the founders of New Uttar Pradesh, has been celebrated today in a grand ceremony by the district administration. The day was organized under the supervision of the district administration with the cooperation of the district information and public relations office and Baripada municipality. In the said event, Maharaja Shri Prabin Chandra Bhanjdeo, Maharani Mrs. Rashmi Rajyalakshmi Bhanjdeo, Honorable Minister of Housing and Urban Development and Public Enterprises, Dr. Krishnachandra Mahapatra, Padma Shri. Damayanti Beshra, Sammaniya District Council Chairperson Mrs. Bharti Hasda, Baripada Municipal Chairman Mr. Krishnananda Mohanty, District Magistrate Mr. Hemkant Say, District Security Officer Mr. Barun Guntupalli, Municipal Corporation Mrs. Jam Das, Additional District Magistrate Mr. Dukhbandhu Naik, Baripada Upazilapal Dr. A group of other administrative officers including Mercy Sindhu Parida, State President of Adivasi Morcha Shri Candra Soren, Samaj Sevi Sharat Chandra Naik, Birja Devi, Editor of Pledge Literary Magazine Shri Bhagwat Prasad Panda, Consuls of various wards, senior citizens, intellectuals, educationists, dignitaries, teachers, students, students were present in the premises of the District Magistrate Maharaja Shriram Chandra. Bhanj Deo and Maharaja Sri Purna Chandra Bhanjdeo paid their respects before placing floral wreaths on the statue. On this occasion, Hon’ble Minister Dr. Mahapatra said, Maharaja Shriram Chandra Bhanj Deo, a great patron of the Odia literary world and one of the pioneers of the 19th century Odia language movement, brought reforms in education, health, language, literature and administration for better governance in the state. Maharaja Sriram Chandra was keen to help Utkal Gaurav Madhusudan in the movement that was formed for the unification of the fragmented Odisha and the formation of a separate Odisha province based on language. That proverb says that the soil is proud of the man Raja Sriramchandra Bhanjdeo. On this occasion, the guests awarded the winners of the logic competition held on the occasion of Banda Day. The birthday celebration program was conducted by District Information and Public Relations Officer Mr. Vikas Ranjan Mohanty, while office staff Mr. Srikant Behera, Sunita Mohapatra, Lalit Ranjan Naik, Chita Soren, Rabi Narayan Naik, Leejat Pradhan, Solaray Singh contributed greatly.
