
Baripada – 19/12/2025 District level Fish and Livestock Fair has been inaugurated today at Chou Madiya in Baripada. Odisha district council chairperson Mrs. Bharti Hasda was the chief guest in the said program organized under the chairmanship of the district fisheries and animal resources office and under the chairmanship of district mayor Mr. Hemkant Say, district chief veterinary officer Dr. Ramani Ranjan Vashal, District Fisheries Officer Manas Ranjan Sahu, Scientist of Shama Khunta Agricultural Science Center Mrs. Sangadamitra Patnaik, SDV Rairangpur Mr. Sushant Kumar Singh Magar attended and lit the lamp. Initially, the chief district veterinarian Dr. Biswal delivered the welcome speech and said in his speech that the approach and objective of the program is to inform the people at the grass root level about the various schemes of the government and how the eligible beneficiaries can take advantage of it, especially how to double the income of the rural farmers and have sustainability in the income thus becoming financially self-reliant and mentioned that the fair will last for 2 days. District Fisheries Officer Mr. Sahu informed the farmers about the various public welfare schemes of the Uttar Pradesh Department and appealed to them to take advantage of them. Similarly, the District Collector said in his speech that the government is spending crores of rupees on various schemes for the empowerment of farmers. Agriculture is not limited to paddy farming, including paddy and vegetables, rabi farming, Mandya national cereal farming, pulses national farming, vegetable farming, fish farming, cattle rearing, goat, sheep, chicken, cattle, flower farming, bee farming, taser farming etc. In all these farming, the government provides seeds, fertilisers, pesticides, buying and selling in Mandi, agricultural machinery at discount. ,Agricultural Loans,Agricultural Loan Interest Waiver where applicable,Agricultural Insurance,P.M. Kisan and C.M. Kisan Yojana provides financial assistance, Prime Minister crop insurance, free fish hatchery, pond excavation, Kamdenu and Go Mission Yojana for distribution of high milk yielding cows etc. Therefore, today’s educated youth should prepare money-making projects in their fields without looking for jobs. So that they can become self-employed and self-sufficient and contribute to the development of the region. In this fair, self-help groups had stalls of various products such as incense, bamboo crafts, various government departments, fisheries, horticulture, agriculture, and animal husbandry. Awareness cultural programs based on various schemes of the government were organized in the fair.
