Kandhamal, (Fast News Odisha): While Baliguda of Kandhamal district is considered as the largest subdivision of Odisha, there are many legal problems in this subdivision. Among them, it is better not to mention the problem of roads. The roads of all the 13 wards in Baliguda city are completely unfit for traffic, in this regard, the departmental higher authorities were informed orally and in writing on behalf of the ward residents, but no remedial action is being taken till now. Even when asking the departmental officer, the only answer is that money and permission have been sought for repairing the road, the repair will be done. Hearing this matter, the ears of the people of the area have become deaf, there is no smell of repair. Despite repeated complaints for repairing such a critical road for a long time, the condition of the road connecting Sadingia Panchayat of Firingia block from Electricisahi in Baliguda town has become very deplorable. That is, while the metal is exposed all over the road, a hole has been created in the culvert pole that connects the electric road with the palm tree. As a result, there is a high possibility that the vehicle will fall straight into the ditch and a major accident will occur if the vehicle slips slightly while traveling. Hundreds of villagers of 4 panchayats of Baliguda block travel daily through this road, while there are two government foreign liquor shops and tender river sand depot at Khadag river. Due to the presence of a sand depot, this river is continuously overflowing with sand. Along with this, hundreds of autos and motorcycles including government passenger buses, school buses are plying on this road every day. On the other hand, since there is a hole in the said pole, the concerned people have wrapped it with string and bamboo. Small and big accidents are happening in the dark of night. When asked about this, the assistant executive of the rural development department, Mr. Shyam Sundar Singh, said, “The work will be done if the money comes from the government for the road work.” When the money will be sanctioned and when the work will be done and when the problems of the region will be solved, it has created a question for everyone. Therefore, taking a good look at all these issues, the residents of the area are demanding to take necessary steps to repair the said road and the roads of all the wards of Baliguda NAC area as soon as possible.
