Baripada: In order to prevent child marriage and create awareness for children’s education, dreams and bright future, a district-wide bicycle rally has been organized under the 100-day campaign of Child Marriage Free India by the Mayurbhan District Administration (Social Welfare Department). The rally was organized in the premises of the District Collector’s office and went around the town of Baripada and ended again in the premises of the District Collector. Around 150 people took part in this rally. . Through the rally, the message “Child marriage is a crime” and “No to child marriage and yes to school, the message was conveyed to the common people. The program was launched by Mr. Hemkant Say Mahoday, District Governor of Mayurbhanj with a flag, Additional District Governor Mr. Dukhbandhu Naik, Mr. Elohim Chandra Naik, Mr. Netranand Mallik were prominently present. District Social Welfare Officer Niharika Mohanty, District Security Officer Sasmita Mohanty, District Program Officer Sukanti Sethi, District Child Protection Officer Namitha Vishwala, District Legal Service Authority Officers and staff of Hub and other district level officials participated in this program to warn the society against child marriage.
