
“Zero mortality” and “every life counts” are the mantras of disaster management. By taking such an approach, the government is committed to making disaster management more efficient, effective, and empowering at the village level, application of innovative techniques, emphasis on creativity, planning, identification of vulnerable groups, increasing group participation and its proper and successful implementation at the village and panchayat levels, as well as to ease the challenges faced in the coming days due to climate change and global warming. In view of how the road map of disaster management can be started from the group level, Deputy Collector Shraddha Suman participated in the training session and expressed the opinion that disaster management capacity building training program is being organized for the working panchayat executive officers of 404 panchayats of Mayurbhanj district at the Panchayat Sansadhan Center meeting house in Baripada. She further said that disaster management is a Teamwork in which both government agencies, private institutions, volunteers and groups have equal roles and with the cooperation of all we make the impossible possible. In this series, Odisha State Disaster Management Authority and District Disaster Management Authority are jointly conducting many programs, he said. The District Project Officer of the District Emergency Office Mr. Jagbandhu Mohanty informed about the purpose and approach of this training program and thanked everyone for the successful completion of this two-day training program. Mr. Manoj Jena, Accredited Master Trainer of Osdam, Captain Mahendranath, Pradeep Kumar Dasmahapatra, and Ashish Kumar Mallick imparted the training. 50 Panchayat Executive Officers from Thakurmunda, Rairangpur, Badsahi, Shamakhunta, Sarasakna, Shulapada, Morda and Bangiriposhi blocks participated in the said phase.
