Kandhamal, (Fast News Odisha): In the case of elephants being cut into pieces and buried under the ground after death in Belghar Banal, under the popular Kandhamal district, Baliguda Bankhand, the Brahmapur RCCF Vishwanath Neelnabar has revealed all the details of the incident through a press conference. After the death of an elephant in Munduti forest of Belghar Forest on January 5, after informing the officials of the Belghar range, with the help of some employees working in the forest department, the body of the dead elephant was cut into 32 pieces and first buried in a nursery near Kadapana, Belghar. Later, he was taken out from there and buried near Tahesir Dam near Kesinga in Kalahandi district by Belghar Ranger Bina Kumar Bishi. After the investigation of the incident, the rumor of the incident is now being revealed. Ever since Ranger Bina Kumar Bishi was suspended after an investigation, he has been on the run fearing arrest. On the other hand, one Bolero, one Bolero pickup and one JCB used in the incident have been seized. Pick-up driver Hrishikesh Panda was arrested and taken to court while eight squad members working in the forest department were taken off notice after questioning, the RCCF said. The elephant died due to electrocution and the sample of the dead elephant has been sent to the forensic lab. It will be clear which elephant is when the report comes. The investigation is still ongoing. RCCF Vashnath Nilnabar said that after the completion of the investigation process, many more incidents will be uncovered and action will be taken against the culprits.
