Kandhamal, (Fast News Odisha): The main accused in the Belghar elephant death incident, Belghar sub-forest officer Vinay Kumar Bishi, submitted anticipatory bail from the High Court after 49 days of the incident. After meeting the Bankhand officials, Tumudiband submitted the anticipatory bail obtained from the High Court before the JMFC court judge and went on bail. The deputy ranger will cooperate in the investigation of the elephant death from now on, said the forest official. An elephant died on January 5 last in Belghar Forest of Baliguda Bankhand. To hide it, the deputy ranger of Belgarh first buried the dead elephant in a nursery. After the incident came to light, the dead body of the elephant was cut into 32 pieces and buried in the village of Kesinga Tayashi in Kalahandi district, a hundred kilometers away. The truth of the incident slowly came to people’s attention. Regarding this incident, a case case no. 72/26 was charged. Eleven people have been arrested in this incident so far. Suryakant Behera, Assistant Conservator of Forests (ACF) of Baliguda Bankhand, who initially investigated the incident, has been suspended for improper investigation. One JCB machine, four four-wheelers and a country-made gun along with some wires and other items were seized. After the incident, the deputy ranger concerned was Vinay Bishi Ferrar. Efforts were on by forest and police to nab him.
