Nuapada: The Election Commission of India has informed the Chief Electoral Officer, Odisha through a letter that Nuapada District Collector Madhusudan Das will be honored at the national level on the occasion of National Voter’s Day for good election management and logistics. This award is given in the category of Best Electoral District l It is to be noted that in the recent years the district administration has very successfully conducted free, fair and impartial Nuapada Assembly Elections under the strong leadership of the District Governor and District Election Officers l Many good initiatives were taken in this by-election l Helicopters were used innovatively to overcome the logistical challenges in the remote Maoist infested areas. Among the major innovations was the GS-based Certi scheme. This included integrated air-ground coordination and a hybrid transportation model combining air and ground routes. A permanent helipad was constructed at Sunabeda to facilitate election operations even in adverse weather conditions. This resulted in 100% polling team deployment, zero transport breakdowns and increased voter turnout while maintaining the principle of “no voter will be left out”. These measures ensured safe, efficient and inclusive election management, setting a benchmark across the country for future elections in remote and difficult areas. Also, information and technology were successfully used in this election. That’s why 83.45 percent voting in Nuapada referendum took the first place in polling in all the elections held on this day across the country.
