In Nuapada Sadar Block Tanwat Panchayat Ratipali village illegal selling of domestic and foreign liquors like ganja and corex. To stop this, the villagers have complained to the district administration, police administration at various times. Zilapal’s complaint was reported in writing in the hearing, but there was no result. Finally, on Monday, under the leadership of local Sarpanch Jayaram Satnami, hundreds of men and women sat in protest in front of the Sadhavna assembly hall where the hearing of the Zilapal’s complaint was going on. After knowing this, Upazilapal Surmi Soren, Abkari Superintendent Asammitra Pradhan, OIC Hiravati Tharti, Sadar Thana Officer Gangadhar Meher held discussions with the people who arrived at the main idea point. The villagers expressed outrage that six local and foreign liquor shops were selling cannabis and corex in the village. Consuming it leads to family turmoil in most homes. There is an increase in anti-social activities in the village and it is affecting the school children. Therefore, they immediately demanded the arrest of the person involved in the sale of liquor. The idea was withdrawn after officials promised to close the liquor shops. On the other hand, if no action is taken within a week, the villagers have warned them to take to the highway in the coming days. About 1200 people are living in Ratipali village in more than 200 families.
