Kandhamal, (Fast News Odisha): On Thursday, the Baliguda court sentenced the accused to three years in prison and fined Rs 5,000 in a case of fatal attack. In default of payment of fine, the officer also ordered to undergo imprisonment for 1 month. The accused duo, Bikram alias Balaram Majhi and Guda Paraseth of Tumudiband police station Kendupada area. According to the incident, on the night of November 14, 2019, Balaram and Guda had a fight with Samuel Naik for some reason. It turned from a small shout to a big mess, and with the help of a weapon, he beat his head and legs and threw him on the side of the road. Since Samuel did not return home by morning, the family members searched the road and rescued him in a pool of blood from the side of the road. After primary treatment, he was admitted to Baliguda Medical Center for further treatment. Samuel’s family took him to Tumudiband police station on the 18th. The Tumudiband police filed a case against Etla for hair no. 80/2019 and Sec. According to 307/34 IPC, Bhak Charan Mukhi of Tumudiband police station started investigation and arrested the two accused Balaram and Guda and prosecuted them in court. After hearing the case on Thursday, Baliguda assistant Dauraj Apurva Kumar Roy passed the above sentence on the basis of the testimony of 13 witnesses. Special PP Suresh Kumar Patnaik was handling the case on behalf of the government.
