Baripada 14/08: The 79th Independence Day has been celebrated at Maharaja Sriramchandra Bhanjdeo University. First of all, a joint parade of National Service Scheme Volunteers and Security Officers of the University was conducted and garlanded at the statue of Maharaja Sriramchandra Bhanjdeo located in the University. Then Professor Kamallochan Barik, Chairman of the Graduate Council of the University, hoisted the national flag. After the hoisting of the flag, the National Anthem was sung and the glory of Mother India and Mahapuru was sung. In his speech, Professor Barik said that freedom is not just a word, it is the identity, dignity and identity of every Indian. It is a true tribute to the nation that all of them are dedicated to the development of the nation keeping these standards intact. All the teaching faculty, students, researchers, non-teaching staff of the university including Registrar Ms. Sumita Singh, Academic Controller Shukdev Tarei, Controller of Examinations Dr. Subrata Rana, Director of Research and Development Council Prof. Pramod Kumar Shetpathi, Coordinator of National Service Planning Bureau of the University Dr. Basant Kumar Mahant participated in the programme. Later, a huge Triranga procession left the university and went around Taktpur as per ‘Ghar Ghar Triranga’ programme. All the teachers and staff along with more than 300 students participated in the procession. Finally, the guests awarded the students for the essay and speech competition through the house-to-house triangulation organized by the National Service Planning Bureau in the university. In the essay competition, Praveen Pradhan, Sanjibani Nath won the first and second positions, while Alka Priyadarshini Samal and Mohini Lakshmi Mudra Shetpathi won the third position. Similarly, Praveen Pradhan, Jyotiprakash Shetpathi and Vswaranjan Bhoi secured the first, second and third positions respectively in the elocution competition. Dr. Bishnupriya Hasda and Dr. Shishir Behera assisted in conducting the program. At the end of the program, all the students were distributed by the university.
