Baripada 20/12: A bilateral workshop organized by the Graduate Department of Social Services of Maharaja Sri Ramchandra Bhanjdeo University has concluded. The workshop titled “Role of Youth in Building Drug Free Family and Society” sponsored by Government of India’s PM Usha program was attended by many eminent persons and presented speeches on drug free society. On the first day of the opening ceremony, in the meeting held under the patronage of University Chancellor Prof. Pramod Kumar Shetpathi, Nimhans Bengaluru Prof. Sridevi AU attended as the chief guest and in her speech gave factual details about the effects and trends of addiction in the states of India and gave a summary speech about the strategy of creating a drug free India. Undergraduate Council Chairman Prof. Kamal Lochanbarik in his speech discussed about the evils of addiction in the current society. Professor Indrajit Naik, the nodal officer of the university PM Usha program said that such a program would help in the successful implementation of the PM Usha scheme in the university. The host of the workshop was Dr. Shubhendu Kumar gave details about the Centenary program and Departmental faculty member Pail Pradhan introduced the chief guest. Vice-Chancellor Prof. Shetpathi, who attended the event as a special guest, discussed the role of each person in the fight against drug addiction and urged the youth to stay away from addiction. Nimhans Bengaluru Professor Gobind Majhi joined as the chief guest and said that this program can create public awareness in the society. The host Dr. Shubhendu Kumar Shetpathi presided and the lecturer Dr. Sujay Kundu gave vote of thanks. NSS Coordinator of Odisha Higher Secondary Education Council Dr. Biswamohan Jena, Narcotics Control Bureau Inspector Vinod Bihari Samantara, Founder of Voluntary Institute Ava Sudhir Chandra Das, Founder of Salam Jeevan Foundation Dr. Imran Ali, Biju Patnaik Police Academy Additional Superintendent Akash Chandra Sahu, Bihar State Institute of Mental Health and Related Sciences Jaipal Majhi, University Associate Professor Dr. Department of Anthropology. Basant Kumar Mahant, Fakir Mohan University Assistant Professor Rashmirekha Raut participated as the chief critic. A total of 115 people from various colleges including SCB Medical College, Fakirmohan University, MPC Autonomous College, MCAM College participated in this workshop. Faculty, faculty and students of the university also participated.
