Baripada 19-09-2025 A review meeting was held today in the district council conference room under the chairmanship of Mr. Madhusudan Padhi, a retired senior officer of the Indian Administrative Service and Hon’ble State Election Commissioner. In the said meeting held under the chairmanship of District Collector Mr. Hemkant Say, Additional District Collector Mr. Netra Nand Mallik, Additional District Collector Mr. Ishwar Chandra Naik, Additional District Collector Mr. Sucharu Kumar Bala, Rairangpur Upazila Collector Mr. Soumya Ranjan Pradhan, Karanjia Subdistrict Collector Kasturi Panda, IAS Probationer Miss Kash Bisksi, Baripda Subdistrict Collector Dr. Mr. Shantanu Kumar Naik, Additional Executive Officer of Melisindhu Parida and District Council and In-Charge District Retreat Officer, was also present. In the beginning, the District Collector presented the details of the various tasks and issues related to the polls. During the review, the Hon’ble Commissioner reviewed various aspects related to polling like availability of ballot boxes, details of polling stations, reallocation/change of polling stations, special summary revision of voter list, publication of final voter list, village retreat wari election roll and details of booth level officials. The Commissioner then inquired and sought the opinion of the officers regarding the various difficulties faced during the conduct of the election and announced that steps would be taken to resolve them. Apart from this, some new reforms will be introduced in the process for the easy and smooth management of the elections so that the officers and employees engaged in the election work can easily perform all the tasks, he said. For this, a pilot project is going to be started soon to prepare Nirbhul Electoral Roll. As elections play an integral part and important role in a large democratic country like India, all the officials engaged in it are advised to carry out the entire process in a responsible manner. Finally the Additional Executive Officer gave vote of thanks. All group development officers of the district, executive officers of all ULBs were present in the meeting and participated in the discussion.
