
Malkangiri, 24/12/2025 – In the current Kharif season, the process of purchasing grain in the state is continuing. District Magistrate Somesh Kumar Upadhyay has launched the process of grain collection within the scope of the Controlled Market Committee in Malkangari district today. Farmers will reap the fruits of their labor. The district magistrate has expressed the opinion that the farmers will get the benefit of the increased price of paddy. For the current 2025-26 kharif year, the state government has set the minimum support price of FAQ standard rice at Rs 2,369 per quintal for the eligible registered farmers with input support money of Rs 3,100. All arrangements have been made for procurement of paddy in Surukhur. The district magistrate also said that the administration is taking care to ensure that the farmers get the right price. Advance information and tokens are being provided to registered farmers. The District Collector said that all related arrangements have been made for the convenience of the farmers. 47770 farmers have registered while there are 68 mandis in the district. Compared to last year, grain will be collected from more farmers this year. Mandi Nodal Officers and Mandi Supervisory Officers are deployed in the district and are closely monitoring the process. In addition, CCTV has been installed in all the mandis for the farmers. The minimum facilities are provided in the mandis and the minimum amount of assistance is being paid to the farmers’ accounts within 48 hours. Aadhaar-linked e-KYC payment system to farmers. It is worth noting that the state government has taken various useful measures for the overall betterment of the farmers. District Supply Officer Lingaraj Behera conducted the program under the direct supervision of Deputy District Collector Ashni AL.
