
Malkangari, 26/01/26: The 77th Republic Day has been celebrated at Malkangari Sadar Mahkuma. Commerce and Transport, Steel and Mines Minister Bibhu Bhushan Jena attended as the chief guest on the occasion and addressed the public by hoisting the national flag and taking salute at the joint parade. On the occasion of this holy day, Minister Shri Jena extended his best wishes and felicitations to all the people of the district and paid his respects to the Chairman and all the members of the Constituent Assembly. On this day less than 76 years ago, the Constitution was promulgated. Minister Shri Jena stated that the Constitution of India is a democratic, secular, socialist, democratic republic and provides equal opportunity to every citizen in the social, economic and political spheres. This Malkangiri district, where the Bharpur primitive tribe is fond of natural beauty, occupies a special place in Odisha. Malkangiri is the land of heroes. Many freedom fighters including Laxman Nayak were born in this holy soil. Those who have stood up for the freedom struggle. On this occasion, the minister informed that more new routes and better services will be provided in Malkangari district in the coming days. The district is rich in minerals due to the abundance of mother nature. The Minister stated that the mineral reserves in the district will help in making Odisha a leading industrial state and will create a large number of employment opportunities for the local youth. Parades were held by students of various schools and colleges on the occasion of this holy day. Similarly, the forest department also displayed advertisement sheep. Later, a colorful cultural program was presented by the students. On the occasion of the Republic Day, the winners of various competitions were awarded and the teams who displayed excellent parade were awarded. The chief guest distributed fruits and sweets to the children of Mangan Children’s Home. District Collector Somesh Kumar Upadhyay and Security Superintendent Vinod Patil were present on the stage. Among others, Additional District Administration Somnath Pradhan, Additional District Collector Rajsab Vedbar Pradhan, Chief Development Officer and Executive Officer, District Council Dasharathi Sarabu and Bankhand Officer Sai Kiran were present. District Information and Public Relations Officer Pramila Majhi and Saroj Patnaik conducted the programme. A total of 27 teams participated in the parade. The parade was led by Police RI Satapriya Vishwawal while Police Sergeant Vibhishan Shabar was second in command. Assistant District Magistrate and Retired Naval Officer Ajay Mandangi, DSP Onam Lakra and Assistant Commandant Suresh Chandra Bhat attended the parade as judges. Ramdhun was served through loudspeakers by the District Information and Public Relations Office in the early morning on the occasion of Republic Day. Similarly, garlands were offered to the idols of the grooms in the city.
