
Baripada Ta 29/10 Despite the long-standing demands and promises of the Mundari tribal people, it is a matter of regret and regret that the Central Government has not taken any concrete steps to include the Mundari language in the Eighth Schedule of the Constitution. Even though the state governments like Odisha, Jharkhand and West Bengal have recommended to the Center to include the Mundari language in the eighth schedule of the constitution, the Mundari language has a special script Mundari Bani and a special literary culture in the Mundari language, but the central government has been neglecting the language of this Mundari tribe for many years. Therefore, today, on behalf of the Mundari Samaj Sanwar Jamda, a demand letter has been given to His Excellency the President of India Draupadi Murmu, Prime Minister Narendra Modi, Union Home Minister Amit Shah and Union Tribal Affairs Minister Joel Oram in Ebad for the constitutional recognition of Mundari language. Under the leadership of Mundari Samaj Sangwar Jamda President Nandalal Singh, Vice President Jena Prasad Singh, Treasurer Phariram Singh, Co-Treasurer Rohidas Singh, Lawyers Surendra Singh, Shukra Singh, Mangal Singh, President of OMSA were prominently present and presented the demand letter along with seeking constitutional recognition of Mundari language and its inclusion in the Eighth Schedule of the Constitution. He demanded to take immediate action. Otherwise, there will be a mass movement for this,” said Nandlal Singh, president of Mundari Samaj Sangwar Jamda.
